The Beginnings

I say welcome to myself as I enter the blogging world. I always thought it would be uncomfortable to a have an on-line journal for all to read but I find it makes life easier to share with others. Due to an overwhelming amount of requests-- and by overwhelming amount I mean they all came from my mom-- I'm starting a blog to share my journey of becoming a Teach For America (TFA) teacher in the Greater Boston area. Don't worry, this won't take the place of personal phone calls or texts, Mom, but will just give you some information until we can chat it up on the phone.

I'm leaving in approximately 2 weeks. Am I ready to go? Not even close. Since I've been home from my mission, I've worked and gone to school full time. My days were jam-packed and I longed for lazy mornings when I didn't have to get up at 6:00am or earlier for work or school. I wanted to have unscheduled time where I could do what I pleased. I wanted to stay in my pajamas until noon. The list goes, and in-fact, that's why I'm not ready yet. I'm trying to live up each day by doing what I want because I know I won't be able to do this again for 2 years. Talk about enjoying life right now!

This is enough for now. In the coming days and months, I'll share more of my experiences in TFA and the classroom, I'll explain why and how I got into TFA, and perhaps I'll share some of my personal experiences because I'm sure some good ones are coming in the near future.
